A community engagement effort with the goal of understanding the community’s vision for a locally-anchored food system that advances Milwaukee’s social, economic, and environmental well-being.

The purpose is to establish a long-term vision for the local food system.

A coalition of farmers market managers & practitioners supporting market operations. We host coalition monthly meetings, distribute important information, and develop materials that assist farmers market managers with general operations.

​The Milwaukee Food System Changemakers is a bilingual cohort model program intended to develop a shared language around food systems, connect community leaders to one another & advance impact on community transformation through a systems lens. 

An emerging tool to help the Milwaukee community understand Milwaukee’s current food system and how it is changing. We work with Data You Can Use to maintain and improve this map.

Researched and created by local historian Reggie Jackson, this story map explores how poverty and structural racism have evolved to create the conditions for an inequitable food system in Milwaukee.

An event that brings together people to share knowledge & build relationships around food systems work. Participants can network with people in all sectors of the food system, and with people who work in adjacent roles that interconnect with the work of creating a more equitable food system.

In partnership with New Venture Advisors, we are developing a food systems plan for the city. The plan will strategically plan how food is produced, processed, distributed, & consumed to create a more resilient, equitable, & healthy food environment..  

A network co-managed with NourishMKE and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation to cultivate a community and share resources related to managing food pantries in the greater Milwaukee area.
